A painting that is hand-painted on a surface is unique and the only one of it's kind.  It cannot be recreated or mass produced. It is not created by a robot or mechanical device. It's created by a human.  It is an expression from the perception of an artist. Each paint stroke is unique. This is why I chose to become a painter. I wanted to continue this timeless tactile activity of expression especially when digitalization and mass production have become so dominant.

Artist Melissa Mae Kors Crawford painting New York

My name is Melissa Mae Kors, and I am a professional portrait artist & painter for hire living in New Yok, NY.  I have a BA in Studio Painting from the University of Wisconsin - Parkside, but I learned the best of what I know from doodling with my father as a child while growing up in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
